Victoria Moul is a British literary critic, scholar, poet and translator living in Paris.

About Victoria

I have held a series of academic posts in the UK in departments of English (at Queen’s College, Oxford) and Classics (at Cambridge and King’s College London). I am currently a Professor of Early Modern Latin & English at University College London, and a member of both departments. In academic year 2023/4 I am taking a year away from teaching for family reasons, and to pursue other projects. In this period I am taking on more editing, translating and research consultancy work than usual.

I write regularly for a more general readership, mostly about poetry. I have my own substack Horace & friends. I write regularly for the Times Literary Supplement and The Friday Poem. I also publish poetry and verse translations of my own.

I have made as many of my academic publications as possible freely available on my academia.edu site.
